Terry honey, you aren't doing anything wrong. When you are asked to put in a passkey, just do that and press ok. Then do it on the other phone using the same passkey. Honest, you're doing fine. (smile.)

Hi Terry

At the point when you select to transfer data, you are asked to switch on Bluetooth on the other phone, so press ok to continue. You can enter any password into the phone, so long as it is the same on both handsets.

Once Bluetooth is switched on on both phones, and you have put a password of any numbers into both handsets, you can continue with selecting what you want to send across from one to the other.

If you need any more help, shout!

Hi Jackie

I've tried using the transfer option several times, I get to the point where it asks you to turn on the blue tooth on the other phone, press okay, then it says something like, lost connection. It also mentions using a pass key, but doesn't give you the option to put one in.

Can you explain how it is done.

Thins

Terry

Hi Mike

The Data Transfer Tool is very useful. You can send text messages, contacts, calendar entries, notes and other things. You simply check the items you want to send from the list. It's a really useful and cheap way of backing up your phone rather than sending stuff across using Bluetooth, or forwarding via texts.

I only discovered it recently when someone explained a quicker way of backing up text messages. I've got about 90 naughties in a folder that people send for me to pass round, and I didn't want to have to forward them all to my other phone, so now just update the folder now and then using the DTT.

Hi Jackie,

I didn't realise you could transfer text messages across! Shame, as It's
very tedious sending them from one phone to the other, and a mite
costlier than a direct transfer.

Thanks for the info,

Mike

Hi Mandy

I don't use the SIM card to back my contacts up because it clips the
details. So what I do is copy contacts either through Bluetooth as
Carol
suggests, or using the Data Transfer tool.

If you use the Data Transfer Tool between two Nokia phones, it's very
easy
to send the contacts,, text messages, calendar entries and notes across
in
this way. For example, I have a jokes folder which I sometimes back up
on
my other phone. I simply link the two phones together using the Data
Transfer Tool, and the second phone has the jokes folder updated. It
doesn't duplicate the jokes that are already in the folder, it just adds

those that weren't there before. I would imagine this would work with
your
man's contacts in the same way.

I hope that helps.

Hi there,

My husband is getting his new phone today and he is wondering how to
copy his contacts to the sim without getting duplicates, is there a
way to move them, or data transfer them to the sim, new phone without
getting duplicates, he prefers to have the contacts on the sim but
isn't it easier to copy to the phone and if so how do you do it using
data transfer, I know it's always a pain with them being duplicated.
