Reading this thread has me rather worried! My Toshiba laptop is 2 years
old. After about 6 months I found that on battery power it would run for
little
more than 20 minutes without recharging. So I decided whenever possible
to use it on AC power. Often it is left connected to the power supply for
periods of many hours. I now find that when on battery power I am lucky to
get more than 5 to 10minutes or so before it shuts down.
i suppose that the continuous unnecessary charging has ruined the
batteries and I will have to get the pack replaced as soon as possible.
Presumably there is also another battery which holds the CMOS data etc.

Thanks to those who have contributed to this thread and alerted me to what
I have been doing wrong.
