Thanks to all you Dyson users for your stories and tips, very helpful as ever.

A very amusing thread. Brightened up my day it has.

Jackie - I've had 2 dysons in the last 20 years, and wouldn't have anything
else, they have been better than anything I'd used of heard of from other
peoples experience, when it came to dealing with dog hair, and even though I no longer have a dog, I would still buy another Dyson because they do such a
thorough job. Yes, perhaps they are a bit noisy, and maybe heavier than
lesser machines, but they are easy to operate, and very easy to empty, as
Andy said in his message, and they are easy to clean and maintain too; it's
not for nothing that they are often seen around hotels etc. They're also a
lot cheaper now too, I bought my current one about 4 years ago for £140 off
Amazon.

Well, all that endorsement, and I don't get a cent for it <smile> -

Andy

| In all seriousness, I'm in the market for a new vacuum-cleaner, and my son
| keeps going on at me to buy a Dyson. I've not had much experience of
them,
| but lots of people tell me they aren't as good as they are cracked up to
be.
| How have people got on with them?
|
| And is the talking cleaner very heavy, and can you push it around manually
| so to speak? After all, I'm used to having a proverbial broom following
me
| around. (smile.)
