Hi

To get into the BIOS you usually press the Delete key a few times (the one in the cluster of six by home and end) just after start up. Although as someone has already pointed out the key you have to tap varies depending on the chipset or motherboard in your PC. And of course you will need sighted assistance as there will be no speech.

Also and this fooled me when I first did it. If you change the boot drive to your CD Rom and then try and boot from your XP CD. You need to press the space bar a few times to get it to work. If you are not quick enough or wait too long it will just bypass the CD and boot into windows as normal.

Darren.

Hi George,
Command prompt is cool, but I need the bios. Is there a hold down key
command to access this?

To get to BIOS varies from PC to PC.

However, tapping F8 repeatedly from the moment you switch on, will usually
get you to a DOS type screen where you are presented with a (non speaking)
menu, where one of the options is "Command Prompt".

Don't you do it by turning on your PC and keep pressing the enter key till
the option to boot from disc comes up?

Does anyone know how to get into the bios. I can have sighted help once I'm
there, so changing the boot from C to D is no problem.
