Hi,

Yes, I've spoken to someone who's had a similar problem. They really
shouldn't have pulled the service so rapidly.

Hi,

A friend got a Netgem box off Recycle-it the other week, but when she =
got
it, I helped her set it up, and found that someone had reset the system =
to
defaults, which got rid of the channel voices. I had done this in the =
past
to my system, but I was able to fix it by doing a service update on the =
box.
I did this with this box, but it seems that Netgem have pulled the =
service
completely, so now we just get a load of unknown channel messages. Has
anyone else had this happen to them?

The Freeview AD situation is getting like it was before the Netgem came =
out
- I don't know of anyone with the Portset media centre, and I want my =
living
room to be free of PC equipment!

Thanks.
Andrew.

Petrina, I can tell you the Netgem does audio description and will also =
tell
you the channel you're on - just as long as it was a channel labeled =
before
Netgem stopped updating the device. Not altogether sure the Netgem is =
still
being sold but someone's bound to update you on that.

I don't know of any other Freeview boxes that will support audio
description. (Sure someone will be along before the night's out saying =
there
are pbetter approaches, many no doubt involving using a PC.)

I
wanted to get audio description, do I still have to have netgem. Thanks =
in
advance for any help. All the best Petrina, Southampton UK
