Hi Alex,

I'm using an Epson 1650 and it suits me. Mind you, I'm working it pretty 
hard and don't expect it to last for ever. It would be good to have 
something that could print as well as scan. Past experience though has 
taught me that machine built to perform several tasks generally don't do any 
of them very well. Does your Mom do much scanning?

Robert, I don't have one of these, but word on the street has it that the
scanners in these things are not great.  Having said that, my mum has one,
and seems to get along with it just fine.

Hi Folks,

A blind friend of mine has just ordered a new computer from Dell. He is also
in the market for a printer and scanner and is considering getting one of
the machines that will do both jobs. Is anyone on the list using one of
these and id so are they any good? Do they present any problems for someone
who is totally blind and can they be used continuously, for example when
scanning books?
