Thanks Wendy very much. I came across the site by accident a few years back by
doing a search for distance learning courses. The guy who runs it is a
journalist, but a decent person, not like a few I know who aren't worth the
paper they are printed on.

All the materials are delivered in Microsoft Word attachments by Email. You
have assignments to do at the end of some of the tutorials, and are graded for
each one. When I first contacted Cleland Thom to ask how accessible his
materials were, explaining I had no sight, he replied by saying: "That's no
problem, let me know if I can make things easier in any way with course
literature." Well that was so positive for me that I went onto do a few
courses. Once you do one at the going rate, the others become half price.

I just enjoy writing on different topics and applying my skills to various
styles. My mum died just over a year ago so I had to contend with grieving for
her and suffering all the back problems that are a part of my life, so it was
nice to start this year right away with something positive and meaningful.

I encourage anyone with some interest or the means to have a go.

Jackie

Congratulations. Clever you! I'm glad you got lots of support, and I will
be looking at this site to see what it has to offer.

  Hi List

Since you have all been very supportive towards me, I just want to share with
you the fact I have successfully completed my diploma in Sports Journalism with
nine A grades and four B Pluses.

After the year I had in 2007, I can tell you this means one heck of a lot to
me.

If anyone is interested in doing journalism-related courses or training, or
writing in general, then
  www.ctjt.biz
is an extremely accessible and decent distance learning provider to use. The
guy who runs the business is really hot on accessibility issues, and is most
accommodating. I don't know whether people could get funding to do any of
these courses through DSA or whatever, but I can't recommend the quality of
content and support highly enough.

  Jackie
