[access-uk] Re: OT braille playing cards

It's bizarre. Does anyone know the history or logic behind it? I'd
have thought that if they wanted to avoid H and C because they looked
like numeral characters, the same would apply for D. Strangely enough,
though, when I've Brailled my own cards, I've continued to observe the
convention.

Cheers now.

Ian

X - Clubs; K - Hearts! <SMILE>

Why should you know. It's not too logical after all!

Sorry for the off topic question.

I have just received a set of braille playing cards from rnib.

the diamonds, I assume, are marked with a d. The spades, I assume, are
marked with an S. The other suits are marked with an x and a k. Which
of these denotes the clubs and hearts, please?! A stupid question,
perhaps, but they don't make any sense to me!

cheers,
