Hi Pete
So have you upgraded, and what do you think of Narrator? I wonder why it is
taking quite a while for the upgrade to appear in Windows 10 Updates? Thanks
for clarification of the Media tool issue.
Kind Regards,
Jackie Brown

hi john,
the answer now should be no to the first question and yes to the second.
when the windows 10 anniversary edition came out last week there was a problem
with the media creation tool that prevented people who had window-eyes or jaws
installed from installing the windows 10 anniversary edition and the only way
around it was to uninstall the display drivers for those programs and then
re-install them once the windows 10 installation was complete.
it seemed to mainly be effecting people who were upgrading from windows 7.
but even when that was happening you could still use NVDA to do the
installation.
microsoft have since corrected the problem and i understand you can do the
upgrade with either of those screen readers running.
if you visit:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/accessibility/windows10upgrade?tduid=(987140d86cc457c48e81c1d6e3c2bdc7)(256380)(2459594)(TnL5HPStwNw-gcP3sqVEUXEMbAgHFGI6mQ)()
and click on the upgrade now button you should be ok.
i also understand that this method of upgrading wont be around for long as
apparently there are a huge amount of non disabled people using this method
because they didn't do it via the normal root before the 29 july.
pete.

Hi Saqib
Have you got the new version of Windows 10 yet? If so, I would be
interested to know how people are getting on with Narrator. Mine
hasn't come into Windows Update yet, and I'm not going to look
elsewhere for it in case something screws up my machine.
Kind Regards,
Jackie Brown
