[access-uk] Re: Must you have a cassette copy?

that is certainly true, though many of us do have friends that don't want to
touch a computer. I personally can't see why anyone wouldn't want to have a
CD player these days. You can't argue that cassette is more accessible, it
simply isn't. You can't argue that it is less convenient either as you can
skip tfrom track to track much more quickly.

If it does turn out that lots of your readers don't have CDs and insist on
sticking to cassettes, the reason for this refusal to change is of interest
to me in itself.

Cheers

Graham

Ray! I think you are talking to the wrong people. The sort of people who
still insist on cassette copies would probably not be on this list.

Wondered if anyone would care to comment about providing audio information
and magazine
material on cassette as well as CD?
I'm part of a small transcription and aural history enterprise and, partly
because our
cassette duplication ability is a little limited we would prefer to ditch
cassette, if only
we could! So, as well as getting local authority customers and the like to
review whether
users actually do have a CD player - DAISY or otherwise - to play material,
how do people
feel about not being offered the choice between cassette or CD?

A bit contentious maybe, but we're considering upping the price quite a bit
for cassette
copies considering the extra work involved. I know from a recent query on
this list about
CD players that quite a few have stuck with this medium but from our point
of view its
simply a nuisance. Comments welcomed.
