Hi Steve Thanks for having taken the time to help. Strangely, the help link isn't taking me to the skype webpage, but now I know where the documentation is I will go and find it manually. Thanks again Donna ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve Nutt To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, May 15, 2005 1:12 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Microsoft Messenger, Skype, Ivocalize and Window Eyes Hi Donna, I don't understand why you can't access the help. If I press Alt-H, I get help, then press enter, and it takes me to the Skype Online user guide. But you must have an internet connection available for help to work. As for usage, again, there is not a problem, provided you are comfortable using the mouse. At the top of the screen, you have I think, three tabs, calls, start and contacts. If you click on the contacts tab, you will get a list of your contacts, with the ones online being at the top. Again, if you want to search for a contact, press Alt-T for tools, then S for Search for a contact. You can now type in a Skype name, or you can tab over to advanced search, hit space bar on it, and then search using all kinds of criteria, including searching for contacts with a specific date of birth. Provided they have filled in their profile, Skype will find them. I hope this goes some way to helping you. All the best -- Computer Room Services: the long cane for blind computer users. I have downloaded skype and also the latest version of microsoft messenger and have tried using them with Window Eyes. Although I can make some use of both pieces of software, I am not finding their accessibility too good. For example, in skype I don't seem to be able to access the help feature at all, while in Microsoft Messenger, I have to keep tabbing from one field to another to write replies and then read messages from others in the conversation. Although I have been using Window Eyes for a while, I must admit I don't yet know more of its technical features in debth, so if anyone does know of hints/tips to improve accessibility I would be grateful. Lastly, I have tried to use the voice chat client ivocalize at acb radio, but again Window Eyes is not reading what is in the edit boxes etc. I have been told it should do this without any problem. Could someone let me know if I need to have a set file or anything? I am using Window Eyes 4.5 at present and am now wanting to learn its more technical capabilities, so please forgive all the questions. Thanks for any help anyone can give. Best wishes Donna Slater. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
