[access-uk] Laptop Batteries

Hi,
I'm writing this on behalf of my daughter. She has a laptop which is 4
months old, and for some reason the battery will not charge. The pc works
fine when plugged in, so I think there must be a problem with the battery.
Is there anything I can do to check this, or any hints anyone may have.
I'm not a laptop user myself, so any help would be gratefully received.
