Ray, I would have to agree that the policy of having pro and standard version of JAWS does hit home users hard.


Even now, many of the best deals are available as refurbished machines with Vista Business on them and if you are a jaws user you do then lose out not only on the current version of JAWS but also on future maintenance upgrades.

I have no alternative however apart from using another screenreader.

Andrew, JAWS and JAWS Pro Live!  A friend got a rude awakening a few
years ago when he purchased JAWS standard and tried to install it on
his new XP Pro machine.   Result?  It ran as a demo.  You may be
another few hundred quid out of pocket if you have to go the Pro
route.

Little wonder some are running cracked versions now.  (NO!  Not
condoning that at all.  We've heard too about the virus attack
problems some are seemingly getting by doing that.

Well, you pays your money....
