Hi Andy, just update the Java thing, *don't* install OpenOffice, as, like you said, it's incompatible to screen readers. Hope that helps.

Hi all -I keep getting prompted for a Java update on my Vista laptop. Is it wise togo ahead and install it? It seems to come with a word processor and spread sheet programme called Open Office.org, that it says is compatible withWindows, and is easy to uninstall later; Some of these add on programmes weknow can cause problems with our screen readers etc, so does anybody have any experience or advice regarding this upgrade and it's installation please? - Andy ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
