Hi Andy, just update the Java thing, *don't* install OpenOffice, as, like you said, it's incompatible to screen readers. Hope that helps.

Subject: [access-uk] Java upgrade

Hi all -

I keep getting prompted for a Java update on my Vista laptop. Is it wise to
go ahead and install it? It seems to come with a word processor and spread
sheet programme called Open Office.org, that it says is compatible with
Windows, and is easy to uninstall later; Some of these add on programmes we
know can cause problems with our screen readers etc, so does anybody have
any experience or advice regarding this upgrade and it's installation
please? -

Andy
