Andy, I am pretty certain that Open Office isn't really usable with any screen reader yet, even with the JFW Java AccessBridge. I don't know it would do any harm to install it as such, but neither will it benefit you, or at least I wouldn't think so.
Some upgrade though! Open Office is a pretty hefty download, unless it's some sort of "light" version.

Subject: [access-uk] Java upgrade
Hi all -I keep getting prompted for a Java update on my Vista laptop. Is it wise togo ahead and install it? It seems to come with a word processor and spread sheet programme called Open Office.org, that it says is compatible withWindows, and is easy to uninstall later; Some of these add on programmes weknow can cause problems with our screen readers etc, so does anybody have any experience or advice regarding this upgrade and it's installation please? - Andy
