Mark, it's really intersting that you are using iPod successfully. Can you describe to us the way that you use the iPod differently to sighted users? Presumably you have to literally go thru each track, listen to the intro to decide whether you want to play the whole track? How does it work? If you were to pick it up now and wanted to hear some specific tracks, how would you go about doing it and how different would this be to a sighted user of iPod? thanks -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Mark Berrisford-Smith Sent: 09 March 2005 20:45 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Ipod Adrian, All iPods are menu-driven. The latest models (4th generation) are somewhat easier to use than their predecessors on account of the incorporation of the four touch-sensitive buttons into the click wheel. Having said that, iPods are perfectly usable, if you accept that you are likely to need sighted help to change obscure menu settings. I've owned mine for six months, and have only resorted to sighted help twice! If you want to discuss iPods at more length, perhaps we can speak on the phone. It would save me a lot of writing! Does anybody know of an accessible Ipod? Something that's not totally menu driven? Wanting to buy one but am not briefed on them. Many thanks. Adrian. Adrian Snelgrove tel.
