Well, Steve, I didn't think I did, but yesterday I couldn't seem to move the cursor with the arrow keys, and found that f7 toggled this on and off and seemed to restore previous cursor behaviour. There's also a setting in the advanced tab of the tools menu. Anyway, whatever caret browsing is, normality has now been restored - thanks.
