You may also like to consider the free version of AVast.
This has received some good reviews.

Incidentally has any list members used the new public beta of NOd32?

Hi Paul.

Interesting to know that f-secure has problems. The last version seemed to
get good reviews in magazines. Nod is good, but it can appear a bit
technical for some. In this case, use of JAWS is not an issue according to
the auther. Kaspersky has also had some good reviews recently.

Graham

I would say use something like Nod antivirus, F-secure is ok to use on =
Smart
phones, etc but it can slow machines down, also not particularly good =
with
Jaws, there are also a few issues with the new version.

It is available from http://free.grisoft.com
They seem to call it antivirus advisor now or something like that.

Given the low price of programs like Nod antivirus, I would advise your=20
friend to put his/her hand in pocket and buy something like NOD =
antivirus.

If the person has a number of machines, a program like f-secure could be =

considered which I think can be installed on more than 1 PC.

AVG is ok but I find it can't always remove viruses.

Hi everyone,
A bit cheeky of me to ask this on a VI list so apologies. I'm looking =
for a=20
free anti virus for a friend of mine who's fully sighted so =
accessibility=20
isn't a real issue here. I checked the AVG's site but they seem to have=20
dropped their free anti virus home edition... Could a kind person =
recommend=20
an alternative? My mate is a complete computer novice so an install and=20
forget sort of program will be preferable.

Any advice would be most welcomed.
