You've got this somewhat backwards. It is not that Firefox does not support the Flash accessibility feature-set as that should be handled entirely by the plugin. Rather, Adobe failed to expose content to MSAA in their Netscape-style Flash plugin.

There is literally nothing more Firefox developers can do about this. They can't realistically handle Flash content without Adobe's plugin since the Flash format specification prohibits people from basing new Flash players on that specification.

Once Opera supports screen readers again in a forthcoming release, they'll have the same problem.
