What software are you using to burn the CDs?  Have you told
it that you have a new burner?  If not, it's possible it
could be just a tad confused being driven by the wrong
settings.

George I pulled a new cdr from 
a new pack and found that though i could store a txt file on
the cdr, when I took the disk out it then showed nothing
when I put the disk back in.  I was fooled I think as the
burner automaticly burns what's in the buffers ie my last
txt file i burned.this is a bit confusing
