Hi Tony.

Excellent, I already have a smart metre at my property, I was with smart energy
for a time before switching to my current provider, however 200 quid is a small
price to pay for total control of my heating system, thanks for the heads up on
this one.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi

If you hand them £199.00, they'll come out, swap out the thermostat for the
wireless model, fit the hub, and get you up and running.

For me the process was painless once they sent the Geek type engineer, the
first guy who visited had never heard of it.

  Hi Tony.

I’m calling BG tomorrow, can you get the system installed by them? Do you
need landlord’s permission and did you have to make any outlay for the
equipment such as the control subsystem? I already have a glow-worm combi
boiler so all that would need replacing would be the thermostat control system
but any advice would be appreciated.

  All the best, Ibrahim.

  Hi

This week, British Gas released an update to their iOS MyHome application,
which facilitates control of their remote heating control (RHC), and their
range of safe and secure products.

The safe and secure range I haven’t tried, but the latest update means that
the remote heating control is now fully accessible to voiceover users.

Using the App, Provided you have the appropriate hardware, you can control
your heating system from anywhere assuming you have a network connection.

  · Controlling means switching modes between Off, Scheduled, and
continuous.

  · Adjusting the target temperature.

  · Checking the system’s current status.

  · Full access to the scheduling program.

Before this version, MyHome was not accessible.

There is still the option to control the RHC by SMS, e.g. Heat on, Heat Off.

  Cheers

  T
