Probably, IMON would have blocked it before it was downloaded.

AMON would have been another line of defence when the file was created.

these methods of protection work in real time and would have meant the 
object was removed without having to perform a system scan.

My girlfriend Hannah and I currently use AVG Free. Recently, however,
Hannah had problems removing a trojan, and had to use ad-aware to remove
it. Had she had used Nod32, would the trojan, which is a downloader, be
detected and permanently removed? If this is the case then I might
encourage her to try Nod32. I agree, it's a very good programme but for
some reason I thought it kept freezing my system at startup, so that's
why I switched back to AVG Free. Thanks for the help.
