Hi Steve,

Well, what a quick response. Thank you very much.

Now, it'll just be a case of trial and error to find which button.

With best wishes,

Keith

Hi Keith,

This is something to do with a button on your wireless keyboard. I have
seen it before, but not sure which button it is, but there seems to be a
button that changes the function of Alt-F4. I have only seen it on clients'
machines, because I hate wireless keyboards, they tend to have non-standard
drivers.

All the best

Steve

Subject: [access-uk] Alt+F4

Hi all,

I have just encountered an odd problem.

I am using Windows XP Home with a wireless keyboard, and Jaws 8 (although I
have established the problem isn't Jaws-related.

The problem concerns using Alt+F4 to close a program.

All worked well until yesterday. And then, for no apparent reason, this
keystroke stopped working.

The Alt key is working fine, as it will bring up a menu, and so is the F4
key. When I press the two, Jaws says Alt+F4, but the program doesn't close,
or I am not prompted to close a program when changes have been made.

The combination Insert+F4 works fine, when I am prompted to close Jaws.

Does anyone have an idea what has happened, and possibly have a fix?

Thanks.

Keith
