Hi Barbra.

You'll need to run the document through an OCR package like fine reader or 
Omnipage.  If your thilthy rich *big smiley*, you could run it through Open 
Book or Kurzweil too.

  I think this has been discussed before, but what can you do when you download 
an Adobe PDF file and it says !Alert: Empty Document"? Of course the document 
is not empty, but that is what JAWS says. I know from before that if you print 
it you can then scan, but is there a way of reading it without printing? I've 
tried saving as a text file, but still it appears empty.
