There are 32 bit and 64 bit versions, and it depends on your hardware. You
can run 32 bit Windows on a 64 bit machine, but not the other way round.

Essentially 64 bit hardware is faster since it (theoretically) can handle
twice the amount of data in the same time period though the CPU.

Well you are quite right Phill I have had a look at my Windows XP Pro in
System and General and it does not give it but I can assure you that it is not
64-bit.

      Hi Eleanor

Thanks for that but it doesn't actually state which one it is.

I looked in System and general tab.

      Phil

You will be using 32-bit Phil but you should find this if you go igo in
to System and General. 64-bit for Windows 7.

          Hi List

could someone please explain how I find out which system I am using?

I have looked in System and properties but can't find any
clarification.

          I am using XP.
