There are 32 bit and 64 bit versions, and it depends on your hardware.
You can run 32 bit Windows on a 64 bit machine, but not the other way
round.

 

Essentially 64 bit hardware is faster since it (theoretically) can
handle twice the amount of data in the same time period though the
CPU.

        Well you are quite right Phill I have had a look at my Windows
XP Pro in System and General and it does not give it but I can assure
you that it is not 64-bit.

                        You will be using 32-bit Phil but you should
find this if you go igo in to System and General.  64-bit for Windows
7.
