The force of the water pushed C&O H-8 Allegheny, 1604 under the Main Street bridge. The parallel section of track to the right of 1604 is where N&W 1218 was displayed for many years. Fortunately 1218 had been moved out of the museum several months before the flood to be overhauled for excursion service. - Jerry P Carr
