Hello,

Don't forget to clean the tape heads (as you would with a cassette).  The other thing to check is the small rubber roller on the left hand side as you look through the slot at the front of each microdrive unit.
The roller can be worn or lift up on the metal shaft.  Sometimes, you can get away with turning it upside down.

The other thing is the microdrive cartridges themselves - have they still got the small felt pad that sits between the plastic and the the actual tape - these are now becoming worn and wearing away fast - they can be replaced!
