Please see this note below from my friend Ms. Maliha Hussain who has served in
the Pakistan Foreign Service, the Agha Khan Foundation, and currentlyy heads
one of the few Consultancy groups headed by a woman in Pakistan. She is based
in Islamabad, and has put everything aside to dedicate herself to serve the
Earthquake victims full time. This is someone who would not write such a letter
unless things were really tough. Please let me know if we can send some of the
funds collected to her? You can be confident that it will reach the right
people through Maliha.
Any help you can give Maliha will be greatly appreciated.

Subject: Urgent Help required for Earthtquake victims
Dear Azra,
I need your help to provide food and blankets to the families who have been
displaced by the earthquake. Several camps have been established in Islamabad
for families who have lost everything. The earthquake has literally swallowed
up their land. They have lost their homes, family members and all their
belongings. A lot of individuals and organizations are helping but it is
just not enough. We have been taking blankets and food but it is just not
enough. Today a woman told me that she had not had a cup of tea since the
earthquake and she just wanted a cup of tea. The problem is that you cannot
take one cup of tea you need to take at least 500!!!!. Can you raise some
funds and help out so that we can provide them blankets and some food items.
We have clothes.
