Hi Harry,
I think an even better solution would be to use some hotkey (e.g. the middle
mouse button) to switch between vertical and horizontal mouse wheel movements.
This way both vertical and horizontal mouse wheel movements should work even if
the mouse itself does not have the horizontal wheel. After all, the mouse wheel
is much more comfortable to use than mouse buttons when it comes to scrolling,
and with this there will be completely no conflicts with the standard mouse
features either.

Wouldn't a conflict between XyWrite and other DOS programs regarding mouse
response be handled by something like WHEELMOD settings?

Hi Harry,
I have added horizontal scrolling in the latest build of vDos-lfn. Both
vertical and horizontal scrolling are now supported and can be customized
by the WHEELMOD directive in config.txt (the default value is "1,2", which
means vertical scrolling maps to up and down arrows while horizontal
scrolling maps to the left and right arrows). I did not add it for
left/right clicks because it will require some work and will also be a
duplicate, and it can cause conflicts with the standard mouse features as
well (note that vDos-lfn is a general-purposed DOS emulator). Hope both
vertical and horizontal scrolling features work for you.

We're getting there! The tilt actually works! But you've got left and right

And could we have it work for left click and right click? Ideally, it would
repeat if held down. Titlting the wheel is apt to move the wheel up or down
at the same time.

Wengier,
I did 3 right clicks, 3 left clicks, 3 wheel tilt right, 3 wheel tilt left,

Hi Harry,
The previous vdos-lfn-test.exe file will only log mouse wheel movements in
the up and down direction. Please try the new vdos-lfn-test.exe file and
see how it works for horizontal movements and what the content of the log
file will be.

Wengier,
Works perfectly! And because I have use LU and LD, it behaves that way.
My next request is for tilting the mousewheel left or right (for those who
have a mouse that can do that) to move the cursor left and right. I made a
log of what happened when I did the tilts. I did 3 rights then 3
up andit doesn't look auspicious. I may have also moved the wheel a little
HB_DOWN_THEN_UP.LOGdown while tilting it.
Come to think of it, I can probable get Autohotkey to take care of this.

Harry

Wengier,
Glad to. Thanks for looking into this.
The one named HB_UP.LOG is WheelUp only. The one named
run itis from using two WheelDowns followed by two WheelUps.
I did this with as close to a plain vanilla setup as I could easily get:
turned off Autohotkey and KatMouse.

Harry
Hi Harry,
Could you try the test build of vDos-lfn from the following URL,
wheel upwith "vDos-lfn-test /log" (without quotes), and try to move the

Wow, that's a great feature! Or two great features.
One problem, on my system: both wheel up and wheel down move the
wheeldown. And with ctrl held down, it also only gets smaller. I might be
something about how my mouse is set up, but I can't think of what, and
Autohotkey's key logger says I'm putting out WheelUp.
