You may want to check out a browser add-on called CleanPrint (www.formatdynamics.com/). It provides lots of flexibility in formatting printed output from web pages. You can pick and choose which page elements to include or exclude, play with type sizes, etc. The output can be directed to a printer, a PDF, or a "text" (RTF) file that can be edited in Word or another word-processor. It was recently mentioned on the Nota Bene mailing list, and I've been using it happily. Here's an example of a printout that I formatted in Word:

I like that CleanPrint allows me to include and (re)format photos and graphics from web pages whose Print button normally produces only the text.
