Attached is an invitation to the Budget Consultation Meeting on Thursday 19th 
January 2017 at 6:00pm. Please RSVP directly. 

I have also received an update from Clare Marchant about senior level changes 
in the Council

Following the appointment of Sander Kristel to the post of Director of Adult 
Services in November, an Appointments Panel met to agree the on-going 
leadership arrangements for CoaCh. The Panel agreed to continue with Peter 
Bishop as Interim Director of CoaCh until Summer 2017, which will provide 
continued stability in SLT over the next six months and also allow for future 
options to be explored more fully. To ensure this arrangement  is as successful 
as possible over coming months, it was agreed that Jo Charles would take on 
Head of Service responsibility for Property and Facilities Management in 
addition to her commercial responsibilities. Further to this, to continue our 
drive on delivery of major programmes over the period,  the 
Programmes/Strategic Change Team will report to Sean Pearce. 

 

You will be aware Anne Clarke will be leaving the organisation to take on a 
wider post at South Gloucestershire. This is a time of great change in Adult 
Services. The team is starting to develop a compelling and positive vision for 
the future and it is key that we have the right leadership to drive that. We 
will therefore be recruiting for Anne's permanent replacement immediately. In 
the interim period the Appointments Panel agreed that Richard Keble will move 
into Anne's post of Assistant Director to ensure that we continue to deliver 
the planned changes. Elaine Carolan, who has previously acted up into a Head of 
Service post, will be stepping up into Richard's post of Strategic Lead 
Commissioner. We will be working on back fill arrangements in the Commissioning 
teams. Our aim is to replace Anne permanently as soon as possible and, although 
we will go out externally for our recruitment, we would welcome internal 
candidates.
