This is a very informal occasion, with no agenda but good cheer and chat, and
so an ideal opportunity to raise ideas for next year's programme. (I stress
chat, because January's meeting will include a formal discussion.) Monday is
your chance to bend the ear (or any other appropriate accessory) of committee
members about anything you want to see on the WKARS agenda in 2017.
For example:
- How do we engage and develop the interests of new members? Should we have a
mentoring scheme? If you're new to amateur radio, or just to WKARS, we want to
hear your ideas.
- Should we develop a collective project? We've heard this year about EME,
fox hunting and a range of other activities. If contesting isn't your thing,
what might be?
- Should we try more adventurous nets, or develop regular club schedules with
overseas stations? Or data nets?
- of Where should we look for new members? Should we develop links with a
school, following up the great success of the ARISS programme?
And in other news....
We have a u/s Dressler linear that might be a useful source of spares for an
owner.
We also need to consider buying a new 2m linear to replace it, but there might
be other kit that you think the club could own and loan to members.
So see you on Monday for a seasonal melange of tea, pies and ideas.
