Fellow philosophers, scientists, engineers, enthusiasts, natterers and chatterers, we have only two weeks of August left, but the great news is that we have a Bank Holiday weekend right now, and a cornucopia of events with which to close August. What better opportunity is there to light up the airwaves with our very own brand of communications? More technical than The Sky at Night, less boring than Facebook, less celebrity chat than a Glossy Magazine, and guaranteed no adverts for beauty products, yes, it's Amateur Radio, the best hobby in the world, bar none. [ tin hat on! ] So please enjoy the weekend on the air. As always, the Club Nets are Sunday at 11am, 28.700MHz USB, and Monday at 9pm, 145.375MHz FM. Centre of gravity is the Tunbridge Wells area, so beam at your favourite local Royal Spa Town; I'm sure Beau Nash would approve. Note also the newly advertised 70 cms Fox Hunt slated for Wednesday, 1930 to 2100, ending in a local pub. Keith G4JED will send out final details closer to the time. However, with a nice lengthy Bank Holiday weekend in mind, I've collected a few television programmes on the subject of Amateur Radio for your enjoyment. This television tour ranges from the ultra-modern TX Factor, to the venerable ARRL World of Amateur Radio, and the timeless Hancock's take on our hobby, via Satellites, Ireland, and the International Space Station. Below is the remaining programme for August and a flavour of September. Enjoy!
