Salvete Omnes!

I hope you are doing well and have recovered from the emotional letdown
following convention (isn’t it hard to go back to normal life?), but I have
just the thing that will cure those feelings – the February board meeting!

The February meeting will be held at Homestead High School on the 22nd at
11 AM. This meeting is particularly important because not only will we be
recapping state and setting our course for the rest of the year, we also
have an emergency election for the position of Historian. As you likely
remember, there was no elected candidate for the position of Historian at
state Convention this year. As a result, a state of emergency is declared
for the aforementioned position. If you are interested in running for the
position, which is primarily comprised of keeping a record of JCL events
through photography and compiling those images for the scrapbook
competition at NJCL Convention! Anyone may run, and if you do decide to
(and we highly encourage it), please submit a declaration of candidacy to
wjclparliamentarian@xxxxxxxxx. It can be found on the website or attached
in this email. If you are unable to scan the form in for sending, please
send an email with the information to the address. In terms of procedures
on that day, you will be permitted a 90 second speech and then will be
asked a series of questions by the current historian, Elena Gratton, as
well as any at large questions, so start preparing now!

Also, as each school is allotted one vote, it is crucial that every school
send at least one delegate. If one is not present at the meeting, your
school may not vote! Voting also are the officers who served at state
convention (the officers do not relinquish their duties until 31 days after
convention), and the state chairs. If no candidate should receive a
majority, there will be a run-off election between the two candidates with
the highest votes.

Also attached to this email is the agenda for the meeting. As you will
notice, the agenda is fairly lengthy, so expect a relatively long meeting.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me back.

One last reminder: If you haven’t already, make sure to take the
post-convention survey, it is linked here <http://goo.gl/forms/z8aaGm0qWS>.

Sincerely,

Michael Kearney
