The past couple weeks have been good for white geese at the southern end of Lake Winnebago, Fond du Lac County. Several white and dark-morph snows have been seen off Lakeside Park on different occasions, and today three more white geese have popped in with a flock of canadas on the grounds of the UW Fond du Lac. Here is a shot of 6 snows on the lake, about 10 days ago: https://flic.kr/p/pJS9Bz and here are the three I found today: https://flic.kr/p/psDrh7 Would I be barking up (or perhaps perching in...) the wrong tree to suggest the second group of three might be hybrid snow/ross? The bills seem stubbier and less pronounced, yet the size of the birds points to snow, IMHO these three just weren't petite enough to be considered ross's. :) Thanks in advance for all opinions expressed.
