I am just returned from a two week visit to Costa Rica, birding strictly in the southern quarter of the country (sites listed below). One entire week was with Osa Conservation -- a Costa Rican agency attempting to save land in the beautiful Osa Peninsula from development. The tour was lead by Craig Thompson of La Crosse and included all Wisconsites. Part of the trip cost was a direct contribution to Osa Conservation and in this age of monumental environmental stressors that felt particularly good! I had the pleasure of birding with several excellent local guides -- including Roy Orozco (out of Quepos) and Nito Castro (Puerto Jimenez). I found both of these men to be excellent guides and would highly recommend them. 311 species total (listed below, with individual totals included) Ramada Plaza Herradura, CR-H Manuel Antonio, CR-P
