This morning Josh Horky and myself birdwatched along Wisconsin Point. It
was a relatively quiet morning for the point, but there was still bursts of
activity throughout the length of the peninsula... and it was such a
beautiful morning to be out! One of the highlights from the morning was
finding my first-of-the-year (for the northwoods) BROWN THRASHER.
Josh and I initially met up this morning at St. Scholastica, a college on
the northeast side of Duluth (Minnesota). While in the parking lot, I
witnessed an early-rising Sharp-shinned Hawk migrating due north. One of
the other highlights was seeing a flock of at least 70 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS in
the nearby spruces.
