Warner Park neighborhood, Madison WI
Protocol: Traveling
.25 Miles 30 Minutes
Observers: 40
All birds reported? Yes
Comments: this is the weekly Sherman School Nature Explorers kids outing led
by UW Madison grad students assisted by Madison Audubon bird mentors. Only a
short walk in an adjacent neighborhood this first day of Spring due to
unusual cold and wind chill, kids then enjoyed indoor bird and nature
activity tables and hands-on observation of some amazing educational
specimens from UW and Audubon collections such as a super-lightweight hollow
goose shank. Warner Park Spring arrivals include recent sightings of Redwing
Blackbirds, Robins and Sandhill Cranes and a Pileated continues to frequent
Warner Woods. Todays walk netted these birds -
 2 American Crow
 1 Black-capped Chickadee
 1 American Robin
2 Northern Cardinal
2 House Finch
