Yesterday at sundown and again this morning I observed two WW Scoters in the harbor. The WW Scoters are feeding very close to the rocks on the north side of the harbor and can only be seen with a scope from the end of S. Pier Drive. They were the same size and body shape, long sloping head/bill profile, a white vertical patch near the base of the bill (stronger in one and quite faint in the other), both showed a dark crown and lighter cheek, one was more blackish throughout the nape, body and wings. The other a bit lighter and brownish. Both showed a white wing patch on the secondaries of both wings.
