Forwarding the following information: 19 Nov 2011 Phil, Could you post this! Two Snowy Owls flew in off the Lake this Saturday at Montrose Harbor, Chicago IL Cook Co. and fishhook pier (near the magic hedge). They were photographed and reconfirm some suspicions that this might be a good Snowy Owl flight year. Also I observed the Broad-billed Hummingbird AND Inca Dove in Mequon this morning Saturday. The dove was by the traditional location near the feeders feeding on birdseed on the big white rocks east of the environmental center; they flying into the 1st group of cedars by the maintenace shed area.... A number of siskin and goldfinch were in the neighboorhood of the Broad-billed Hummingbird, also a nice flock of Cedar Waxwings! Good Birding! btw Illinois birder John Vanderpoel is at 734 in his Big Year quest in N. America. btw I'm also a WSO member... Thanks, David B.
