The bird was seen by a few of us between 10:30 and 11:00 AM in the cedars just to the NW of the entry bldg to the Bong Recreation Area. This seems to be a favorite spot for the bird to feed. It generally picks off the cedar berries one at a time while fluttering then lands in the nearby deciduous tree to devour them. Bluebirds are in attendance as well as Pine Siskens and the occassional Yellow-rumped Warbler. Upon driving along the park road, a Rough-legged Hawk was seen perched and then flying over a nearby field. We did not see any Shrikes along the drive, but it's a huge area and they are probably around. At the nature center feeders were Tree Sparrows, Chickadees, Juncos, Blue Jay, W-B Nuthatch and Pheasant. -- Karen Johnson Milwaukee County "BayView" #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
