(Sorry, but due to "technical difficulties beyond my control" with the new
wisbirdn address (for me), I'm sending a tardy post, which at the time a week
ago was perhaps of more intrigue.)

Pheasant Branch, Middleton (Madison area), Dane Co., 8/30/09

For a couple of hours this afternoon before sunset, I detected on the trail
heading south from Century Blvd. (beginning 100 yards south of Branch Rd.):

- BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER (1, first seen by my prince of a nephew, Noah Edelstein,
and soon after I noticed this individual was a female)

- BLUE-HEADED VIREO (1)

- LEAST FLYCATCHER (2)

*

Of local interest/resident breeders:

- AMERICAN REDSTART (1, first-year/hatch year female)

- EASTERN WOOD-PEEWEE (4)

Happy Birding and Best Wishes to my Friends in Wisconsin,
