The Wausau Bird Club came to the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary this morning in the rain, and it didn't look very lively bird wise, but patience and persistence paid off with 19 species of warblers, one of the 2 Summer Tanagers seen this morning and a male Orchard Oriole, coming into breeding plumage. The Summer Tanagers were east of the Nature Center past the double gates on Sanctuary Rd. on the trails to the north. Out of the 80 species seen the new arrivals were Red-eyed Vireo & Willow Flycatcher; other great birds were Scarlet Tanager, Black-thr. Blue Warbler, Redstart, and Bay Breasted Warbler.
