Just recalling some moments from Saturday. 1) Some of the Savannah Sparrows seen were of different subspecies. Some were the usual moderate brown with central spot and yellow lores. One bird was an outstanding dark brown, with the usual marks. 2) The last 3 birds of the day were RC kinglet, Sc. Tanager, female, and one Laurie would sure appreciate. Driving past the central Oshkosh water tower, sitting high up was Titan.......with a friend !!!!!! So, not one, but 2 Peregrines were added to my list. That was sweet !! 3) I'd say, not only the RAVEN was probably my best sight of the day, but something else came in 2nd. This will be your pop quiz. This bird's call note is/was a thin se-eeet. And one of them, for your only clue is, I saw one very oddly perched in the top of a small tree. 4) The titmouse I had was heard in the woods along Bradley Rd. It's song was a bit deeper than I usually have heard. 5) This birding fanatic is heading to bed, dreaming of the next big bird outing. 6) Paul Bruce, Oshkosh Winnebago, Co. 7) Pop quiz answer,,,,, Am.
