In less than a week we have had singing Red Crossbills, and some good
number, at three locations in Portage County. From eBird, there are few
other parts of the state reporting them.
Singing Red Crossbills were a first for me this spring in Portage
County. Its an odd year (another!?) with mosquitoes biting in March
along with seeing newly hatched grasshoppers. And, I have yet to see a
tick though I know they are out there. I am very conscious of ticks
since contracting Babsia (and there are others
