This morning we saw probably over a thousand ducks in huge rafts floating in
Rowleys Bay, and Sand Bay nearby. Had to use a scope to see some of the closer
ducks in the rafts. They were mostly Scaup, Greater or Lesser, and some
Redhead Ducks. also some "stray" Goldeneyes, Common Mergansers, Bufflehead.
Also seen from Rowleys Bay dock were about 18 Swans on far side of the bay,
against the ice shelf. Most sleeping, but the 4 or 5 feeding had black bills.
Too far away to tell exactly what they were in the dull light. Tundra or
Trumpeter, I guess. Wish I knew! If anyone checks this out, please post.
