-------- Original Message -------- Subject: Horicon Marsh Redstarts Date: Wed, 20 May 2009 16:10:02 -0500 From: Brad Webb <Brad@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: Wisconsin Bird List <wisbirdn@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Birded some of my favorite warbler areas in Horicon Marsh today. Nobody new in evidence, at least while I was there but did get a rare treat from the many American Redstarts along Northern Road. I was able to watch a hen gathering insects and feeding them to her brood in a nearby tree. Couldn't actually see the babies, but could see the feeding action. Here are some documentary quality photos - I was not about to take any chances with disturbing Mom or the nest. Lots of fun to watch - she's a tireless worker and was flitting about the bushes and trees remarkably quickly - though that made getting any kind of photo of her a real trial. http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2336682110051067273eBjLPt http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2897306410051067273fwuXAD http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2272459850051067273QPrVoc Brad Webb, Watertown, Dodge County -- |___| Brad Webb Brad@xxxxxxxxxxxx | | )o( ... and the pen wrote ... \|/ v We operate at a 90 degree angle to reality. #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
