I spent much of the day hitting the bird haunts within Portage Co. The weather
was favorable until the winds came around 1:30 PM and slowed things down.

Target Species Missed:

Hooded Merganser, American Bittern, Broad-winged Hawk, Red-shouldered Hawk,
Great Horned Owl, Both Kinglets, Winter Wren and Hermit Thrush.

Best birds:

Rough-legged Hawk BVG 2.
Warblers, 19 species.

A good long list of 139 species -- second highest I've recorded in the county
in one day. My record high is 143.

the one that heralds new discoveries, is not
'Eureka!' (I found it) but 'That's funny...'"
