I was over in northeast Langlade County for work on Friday. The Ada Lake and
Diamond Roof Roads were tremendous for spring wildflowers, including carpets of
Spring Beauty, Troutlily, Bloodroot, White Trillium (just starting up),
Dutchman's Breeches, Wild Leek and more that this rookie couldn't ID. Lots of
warblers, plus E. Wood Pewee, Scarlet Tanager, and Red-bellied Woodpecker (good
bird for me). And for the butterfly enthusiasts, more West Virginia Whites
than I ever imagined could be in one place in Wisconsin...
